Bikes are one of the most common methods of transport for Wolfson members. Find out below about storing bikes at Wolfson.
Insurance and registration
Owners are strongly advised to insure their bicycles and to join the bike register scheme This will see your cycle registered with the police. Keep bicycles locked to a bike rack when not in use. Bicycles are often stolen from Oxford in general and sometimes from the College too. Any thefts should be reported to the police and our Accommodation Office.
Keeping your bicycle at Wolfson
- Bicycles should either be kept in the designated area at the end of the underground car park beneath the F block flats or one of the outside bike racks. There is pedestrian access to the car park from the Tree Quad. You are not allowed to keep bikes in Wolfson's accommodation.
- Bikes should display a coloured tag available from the Lodge. Without one, your bike may be removed.
- Padlock your bike when not in use. Bikes are frequently stolen from the college and in Oxford. Report any thefts to the Lodge as well as the local police.
- Long term bicycle storage is available for a maximum of one year.
Cycling is a very popular way of getting around Oxford. Be aware that bike theft occurs regularly. You can register your bike for free with the University Cycle Registration Scheme. Doing so will help the police to get your bike back to you if it is stolen.
Bicycles, including electric bikes, can be hired from docking stations across the University. For more information visit the Oxonbike website.
